How To Heal Chronic Illness: The Inner Work Guide
It is estimated that nearly 50 million Americans suffer from autoimmune disease and chronic illness according to the AARDA. That number is expected to rise over the coming years. Sadly, many of us affected by these diseases have become disabled, homebound and unable to work. Although the traditional medical community has not been able to find a cure to the growing list of these diseases and conditions, there is hope in healing for us.
Healing will transpire if we go inside and connect to a source within ourselves to forgive and heal lifelong trauma. We have the power to heal our chronic conditions and find our way back to health and wellness. For many of us it feels despairing while suffering from chronic conditions, but there is hope to heal. We can cure the worst of symptoms and conditions ranging from neurological, immunity, digestion, adrenal and hormone dysfunction as well as debilitating fatigue.
Most of us that have experienced these disabling symptoms have tried every diet, supplement, and alternative treatment available while researching and reading countless books on healing. There is so much information and science available regarding nutrition and the body, and yet, we are not healing effectively. This is the question so many of us are asking.
Due to the complexity of these illnesses, traditional medical care has fallen short. Many of the underlying issues span multiple organs and bodily symptoms; and therefore, present a great challenge to the medical community. Even the holistic treatments have only gotten us so far.
There is growing evidence that childhood trauma and faulty belief systems overtime can cause chronic illness and disease in the body. Learning about the connection among the mind-body-spirit is vital to treating and curing these mysterious illnesses. For those of us that have tried every treatment available, have a stellar diet, and are doing everything right according to textbook medicine, know there must be a missing link.
Some spiritual communities that suggest our bodies are designed for perfect health, but forgiveness of others and ourselves is required for healing. Many of us that suffer from these types of autoimmune conditions and chronic illness are sensitive, empathic souls that often unconsciously allow hurt and wounds to linger in our bodies. For healing to commence, we must give up the victim stories we have been unknowingly hanging onto.
Once this happens, we will open the heavenly channels for healing. We can trust that we are being led intuitively by our own inner guide. Each of us have access to an internal wisdom or divine guidance that is always present with us. That wisdom is there to help us shed false illusions and beliefs that have been weighing us down and keeping us sick.
Through simple prayer and meditation, we can systematically identify the beliefs that we need to release. Many of them related to fear, anxiety, abandonment, guilt and shame that need to be addressed. Some of these revelations can be quite astonishing. For example, we may have childhood programming that suggests, “I only experience joy when I eat sugar.” So, for those of us that have eliminated all forms of sugar in our diet for years, we may be subconsciously incredibly deprived.
As we can incorporate new beliefs and release old patterns, we will begin to heal rapidly, feeling much lighter in body and spirit. Each day becomes a new adventure in uncovering old limiting beliefs that we are now ready to release. As this happens, our physical symptoms begin to subside and our energy and vitality returns.
Moving ahead, the key to maintaining our health will require us to stay connected to our inner guide. This will require us to surrender full control of our relationships, career and daily activities – trusting that this force is guiding us towards our highest good. We can even trust this power to guide us in food and supplements that will nourish our body.
Not only will this process give us back our physical health, but we will discover greater joy and vitality than we ever had before. Friends and family will certainly be amazed at the transformation. Life is enjoyable again, and the future is bright.
We have learned there is nothing outside of us that is needed to heal. More than likely, nothing outside of us is going to be able to cure our conditions, especially if we tried every treatment available on the market. The real work is going inside of ourselves to attend to the soul wounds that attributed to our physical symptoms.
For those of us that have suffered the throws of debilitating illness long enough, we now have a key to unlock a new path forward. Healing has always been our birthright, and we are here to reclaim it. Let us now do the inner work required to get us back home to health.
